GROUND RULES The Fundamentals of Community Engagem

  

This training will focus on understanding Community Engagement practice. Attendees will be provided with definition of Community Engagement. Attendees will identify personal, organizational and community assets. They will develop their personal introduction presentations (Elevator speech) Introduction to recruitment and retention of Community Stakeholders/Advisory Board member, Parent Café participants and community partners. (Exercises and Role plays). They will learn how to plan and develop a Community Engagement Plan. 

GR II - ADVANCED COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

      

This   session will focus on how to identify recruit various types of community   leadership, identify the different types of stakeholders in the   community. How to use community   marketing to recruit CAB members, Parent café participants, faith based, DHS   involved and other stakeholders. How   to use Social media to recruit. Attendees will learn how to   implement a Community Engagement Plan.

RUNNING AN EFFECTIVE COMMUNITY MEETING

 This course will teach the participants how to run an effective meeting. They will learn how to develop an agenda, set up a room, control and move through the agenda items and how to deal with meeting disruptors.

 This course will teach the participants how to identify their own leadership skills and how to recognize them in others. They will learn how to build effective and productive relationships with community partners and residents

This   course will teach the participants the purpose and value of advocacy. They will be able to identify sources of   power and chains of command. The will practice   different types of advocacy activities.

Project Management/ Budgeting/ Evaluation

 This course will teach the participants how to plan, organize, motivate and control resources to achieve specific goals. Participants will learn to take a project from conception to implementation.

 This course will provide participants with increased awareness and knowledge of cultural diversity, awareness and sensitivity.  .
